La tercera ACTIVIDAD CON NANOS EN ROVANIEMI que os proponemos es hacer un TALLER ARTESANAL CON CUERNOS DE RENO de la mano de IRENE Y ARI KANGASNIEMI de HORNWORK.
Una bonita manera de adentrarse en la CULTURA LAPONA y de conocer sus costumbres y de entender cómo viven y cómo se relacionan con la naturaleza, es visitar a Irene y Ari en su taller artesanal en Rovaniemi.
La artesanía no es sólo una profesión para ellos sino una forma de vida.
El cuerno de reno es el material que se utilizaba desde antaño para realizar los utensilios en Laponia. E Irene y Ari siguen utilizando este material para sus trabajos.
Con sus manos hacen todas las herramientas que necesitan para su día a día.
Y desde ese pequeño rinconcito de Laponia, a través de sus talleres y de sus trabajos, intentan transmitirle a los visitantes y al resto del mundo, las tradiciones de la Cultura Lapona que aún siguen latente.
Queremos agradecer a Irene y a Ari, la tarde tan bonita que pasamos junto a ellos.
Lo bien que se portaron con los nanos y todo lo que aprendimos sobre la Vida Lapona, sobre los renos, los cuernos de reno y las diferentes formas de trabajar los cuernos de reno, así como las pieles de reno y las del salmón.
Gracias por vuestro recibimiento, por vuestra paciencia y por vuestro cariño. Por tomaros tantas molestias y por el chocolate calentito y el jugo de frambuesa, en aquella mesa cuidada hasta el último detalle.

The third ACTIVITY WITH CHILDREN that we
propose to make a CRAFT WORKSHOP WITH REINDEER HORNS by the hand of IRENE
& ARI KANGASNIEMI from HORNWORK.
A beautiful way to get into the LAPPISH
CULTURE and to know their customs and to understand how they live and how they
relate to nature, is to visit Irene & Ari in their craft workshop in
Rovaniemi.
Handicrafts are not just a profession for them
but a way of life.
Reindeer horn was the material used in the
past to make utensils in Lapland. And Irene & Ari are still using this material
for their works.
With their hands they make all the tools that
they need for their daily life.
And from that little corner of Lapland,
through their workshops and their works, they try to convey to the visitors and
to the rest of the world, the traditions of the Lappish Culture that still
remain latent.
We want to thank Irene & Ari for the
beautiful afternoon that we spent with them.
How good they were with children and
everything that we learned about Lappish Life, reindeers, reindeer horns and
different ways of working reindeer horns, as well as reindeer and salmon skins.
Thank you for your welcome, for your patience
and for your affection. For getting into so much trouble and for the hot chocolate
and the raspberry juice, in that table cared to the last detail.
